Sholi is a dark and moody record with a nice touch of frantic weirdness mixed in. At it's darker mellower moments, Sholi reminds me of The One Am Radio. As it gets louder and more frantic, it's hard not to draw comparisons to Deerhoof, who's own Greg Saunier produced the album. Sholi is oddly accessible and experimental at the same time. Intricate drum patterns full of quick time changes mixed with mellow more traditional chord progressions make this an enjoyable contradiction to listen to. This record seemed to slip under the radar, but is well deserving of your attention. Come down here, give it a listen, and pick it up for 10% off this week!
